Baby Photo Shoot Northampton, Toula
Presenting our latest tiny customer – 12 day old Toula who barely woke during her baby photo shoot today. When we welcome babies to the studio for newborn photography, we request the shoot takes place within the first two weeks while babies are still foetal, sleepy and tucked. Our latest shoot with newborn Toula perfectly illustrates how curly and tiny most newborns are at 2 weeks old.
This dainty little newborn had beautiful petite features and perfect skin, and was mesmerising to watch. Unbeknown to her, she gave us a great range of expressions as she slept, with milk smiles and delicate pout that made us melt.

She kept herself tightly snuggled as we worked with a tendency to adjust her own positioning as we went along, and this shows in her photos as she appears super comfy and at ease. Our style of photography aims to ensure babies appear beautiful in their own skin as nature intended.
Although there is an element of posing and wrapping, we always roll with each babies preference to have their arms or legs tucked or stretched depending on how they feel comfortable, which ensures their images look good. Although up for debate, we feel there is no right or wrong way to achieve beautiful newborn shots, poses should be individualised to each baby’s range of comfort, safety and kept as natural as possible.
Little Toula seemed at home in the studio, she barely opened her eyes to peer at her surroundings, blissfully asleep and not bothered by the camera. Our studio lights are never directly pointed at our newborns both for lighting and safety reasons, so she wasn’t phased by the camera flash and seemed at home as a model. She appeared to really cuddle our tiny teddy bear which made a super cute photo.
Thanks to mum for the long drive to our studio from Staffordshire today, which was very flattering for us….although we like to think we’re worth it! Thanks for reading.
