A recent photoshoot featuring 3 year old Kacey from Wootton in Northampton. We first met Mum whilst attending a very wet Cheeky Monkey’s Tea Party organised by Northampton NCT earlier in the summer.
At the event, held at Quinton House School, we had one of our usual exhibition stands promoting our children’s portrait photography and Mum very kindly filled in one of our forms. Although not winning the top prize, Mum did decide to bring along little Kacey for his first ever professional photoshoot.
Now I’ve witnessed many thinly veiled attempts at bribing children to have their photo’s taken in our studio; sweets, stickers, a trip to Nannies house or cold hard cash, but Kacey’s Mum took the prize for most ingenious! Both Kacey and Mum arrived at the studio in full festive get-up. Kacey in a fabulous Christmas knitted jumper and Mum sporting a Santa’s little helper top! The idea, they were taking some photographs for Santa… genius!

Kacey was very relaxed in front of the camera and immediately rewarded me with a lovely natural range of smiles and expressions. We even managed to persuade him to take off his splendid Christmas jumper and capture a few more shots with a simpler feel. After feeling confident that I’d captured all the images that best reflected his lovely confident little character, we then changed the studio lights around which allowed him to move around freely.
Before we knew it, the photo shoot was over and it was time for Kacey to return to his pre-school back in Northampton. Also, Mum needed to return to her day job, although I think she made a perfect Santa’s little helper!
A big thanks to Mum and of course Kacey for such a lovely fun shoot, I really hope Santa brings your special blue racing car, you deserve it!
