Once in a while something incredible happens in the studio, and the dream photo shoot happens. All photographers secretly hope for these moments, and whilst we always aim to go the the extra mile for every client, there’s no telling when that killer shoot is going to happen…. we’re so happy when it does!
Introducing our beautiful maternity clients from last week, who are not only sisters but both 33 weeks pregnant with their baby due dates only 5 days apart. Something like this is as special as it comes, and when Megan won a runner up prize in our recent Facebook competition she got in touch to ask if she could bring her younger sister Molly along to share a few photographs too. Such a fantastic opportunity for them both to capture this very special experience as siblings, and for us too with the privilege of having them both in front of the camera.

And it was awesome fun! You can’t have sisters along to a photoshoot together in these circumstances without a few laughs along the way, we’re certainly not ones for formality. Let’s face it, it’s a nerve racking prospect to get under the spotlight and pose in any case, especially when wearing just your undies, but in this instance made easier by sharing the experience.
Photographically it was a real challenge for us, both in terms of technical lighting plus in physically posing the young sisters to best flatter and emphasise their beautiful pregnant form, but we saw it as a rare opportunity to really flex some creative muscle. The girls made it an absolute pleasure and truly made wonderful models, displaying endless patience and good humour.

We’re thrilled with the final results and on this occasion have uncharacteristically decided to showcase them in soft muted colour as it seems to add to the overall sumptuous quality, although we’re of course renowned for our stylish black and white photography so had to pop one example in there!
We absolutely love the photograph of the girls in their plain white shirts, to us, they look simply beautiful or should we say radiant? Equally, they both look stunning in the more artistic fabric shot, which was quite an impressive feat of engineering to set-up. We can’t decide which we like more. We wanted to portray their bond as sisters and their intimate closeness, not twins, but connected by motherhood as well as family ties.
A huge thanks to both Megan and Molly for such a fantastic and rewarding maternity photo shoot.
